RE: Cover for LP tank

I have two 10 lb tanks on the PU. Also, those plastic containers won't fit on the tongue of the trailer because of the recessed ABS plastic on the PU itself. Do anyone know where I find a new (orginal) tank cover? Ebay not working....

Cover for LP tank

I have a 98 Grandview SP (new roof :)) but, my plastic cover fell off and was bent on one of our trips. It covers two LP tanks, but it seems that those rubber hooks on the side don't hold it anymore, streched???. I know I can unbend the cover, but what can we do to hold it on there better? I have checked with CW and those plactic covers won't hold on the frame. Any suggestions? Or where I can get a replacement?.

PU camping with family and need CG suggestions in FL

Hi everyone, live in the Ft Myers area and family taking a vacation starting on the 25th of this month for 10 days. We have two possibilities, 1: take PU and find maybe two (different & fun) campgrounds. 2: Take the van and DRIVE throughout the country and find FUN things to do. As everyone is hurting at the gas pump, we will just watch out eating out. Does anyone have any good campgrounds in Florida? Perferrably North Florida? We have to many options, need some fun and cool places to go with two boys 13 and 12 yrs old. Thanks in advance! PS Would like to stay away from amusement parks, and we are also bringing our two mini dogs.

RE: ****ADD A ROOM**** Fleetwood / Coleman

We use our room alot, mostly everytime we camp. Our camper is 10 years old ( 1998)so is our add a room, so to answer two questions at once, they last as long as you take care of them! Meaning, that we wipe ours down everytime we use it and it still looks brand new. I recommend you use it during the summer when bugs are out alot, and at least try to put it up three times before you decide not to use it, it gets easier everytime you put it up, bt well worth the time! Enjoy!

Pigeon Forge April 12-20th things to do in the mountains?

I have never been to Great Smoky mountain's, we are not taking our rig, but staying in a time share in Pigeon Forge for that week. I really don't want to do the shopping or amusement park stuff. We are taking our conversion van with our bikes, what can we do that uses our own energy, like walking, biking swimming? Would like to stay within a hour driving distance from Pigeon forge. Everyone knows of the roads to take, I want to know that roads and areas and stops that are not always in a brochure. Any suggestions? Want the family to get back to nature, and enjoy the views and sounds. Thanks in advance.

RE: Vanity Mate

I like mine, purchased it seperately, but instead of placing it in the bathroom area where it looks like the picture, I had mine place in front of the sink in my 98 Grandview SP. Ridges in the shelf can be a PITA sometimes, but it is great to have things off the counter and stove. Good luck, ALso look on ebay, first check under vanity mate or start with something else to look for like the camper caddie and then you should find a someone who might reference other coleman products and find it.

RE: curtains, still looking

I found mine for my 98 Coleman Grandview SP about 6 weeks ago on Ebay through Leisure Time RV in orlando area. Do a search for leisure time rv store and you'll find them there. I purchased new curtains for mine, I tried to fix them myself with new elastic but the curtain rod/pieces were not easy to get around and it looked aweful! I was able to purchase my set for 22.00 plus shipping. Check there, I'll try to find the website and edit my post if I find them. Well worth the money and sooooo much easier. Of course they may not match with dinette charirs, I had solid ones and now what a nice pebbled color. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320208038609 Here is the link: Hope this helps, and they are for a 2002 but they will fit yours!

RE: Older vehicle with 160,000 mile to pull trailer?

Thanks for your responses, sorry to see that I P***ed some people off by double posting, but I did not realize after my 7am post that their was a towing section, but anyway, rules are rules. Anyway, did decide to purchase a 5.4L 1997 Econoline High top van, (couldn't pass up the price). Still have the blazer, but it also is the S10 model not the larger one. So with all of our crap, kids and dogs we should be just fine. Thanks for the advice, but in the future not everyone whom has a PU trailer stops to look into the towing section. Thank agian for all your responses, Mary

Older vehicle with 160,000 mile to pull trailer?

Good morning everyone. I placed this also under Pop up section in hopes that I could get some answers today. Thanks for reading this post. We have a 1999 S10 V6 Chevy Blazer with 160,000 miles on it that can pull that can pull 5000 lbs. We have used this vehicle for the last 4 years to pull our 1998 Grandview SP. Last week we decided to stop at the weight station and truly get a accurate weight of our trailer with everything we leave in it, except food, water and clothing, we also had a new roof placed on. The sticker says 2295 dry weight, but it actually weighted 3300 lbs! This was a big surprise for us, our vehicle weights only 4300 lbs. So we are at a delima right now, we are thinking of purchasing a 2002 Ford Econline 150 van, V8 4.6L engine with 49,000 miles to replace the Blazer, mostly becuase of the weight issue and we also feel that our popup is to heavy to pull with a vehicle that only weights 1000 lbs more, and also the mileage and strain on the transmission. Are we over reacting? Is is a good rule of thumb to have a vehicle that is half the weight of your towing equipment? The van can pull 6000 lbs. We feel that the van and people we have in it will be safer and much less strain. We just feel that we may be overweight with towing/and the kids in the back seat and need some advice. We will be making our decision on the vehicle later today. Thanks in advance, Mary & Terry

Grey Water holding tank under Fleetwood PU?

Over the past few years Fleetwood made a large holding tank that attached underneath the rear of the PU, I am looking for one for our 98 Grandview SP? I went to the Fleetwood website and looked underneath accessories and it's not there, and suggestions? Checked Ebay and looked under holding tanks, grey holding tanks, Nothing. Can anyone direct me in the right direction or store that I might be able to get one? Or if they are not worth the money, let me know as well. Thanks,

PU breaker popping with air conditioner on high & heat only.

A couple of months ago I posted a topic regarding our PU and the air conditioner popping the curciut breaker on the convert box. Have not used it, but did have the converter box checked and everything looked fine by a friend whom is a mechanic. Changed the plug t the box as well, today after three months of not using the PU my DH plugged in at the campground and when he put the air on High cool it popped within the 15 minute range. But after reseting the breaker, he placed the air on low cool and stayed on for several hours. Does anyone have any suggestion of what is tripping it? Also several hours later he switched to the heater element and it popped again? Any more suggestions on what is causing the pop of the breaker? We just had the roof replaced about 9 months ago, and I am wondering if something is touching inside the air conditioner since it was moved from one roof to another.. Need some suggestions and advice. We don't know waht to even look for. Thanks for your help in advance, will check back tomorrow for suggestions.

RE: What to do with other bunk end after kids are grown?

Thanks everyone for your comments, I know they will be back, I guess shorter trips and closer to home might help. Happy Holidays.

What to do with other bunk end after kids are grown?

Well, kids are getting older and are starting to see the signs of not wanting to go camping with mom and dad. I luv my PUP and won't trade it for the world, but the other side bed is a king size, what can I do with all that room that will be useful. DH says put a 47" flat screen tv in it place? Any ideas? Would like to know if any other PU owners have incountered this same problem, I know this is just extra space but I am looking for really good idea besides a storage place. Happy Holidays.

RE: camper caddie

I love my caddie, I have only had it for about a year, but I love that I can take it with me when we close up the PU. It makes packing for clothes much easier. Of course I don't place bathroom items in it, just clothes and towels. Keep watching ebay, I spent the 200+ dolllars for the package which was the caddie, the two light fan combos and the vanity mate. I would not hesitate to do it all over again. Good luck on finding one, I know the local fleetwood dealer had one clearanced one time.

RE: Stmped....Converter problems ( I think)

Well, in our Pop up we only have one source of power, and I believe that the box is called a converter? Maybe an inverter, (I am also female posting this topic) that might help in the matter. The box's circuit breakers and 10 amps and 20 amps, went to CW yesterday and the don't carry 10/20 breakers, and when we took out the box from PU, we could not find how to get the breaker. The box was welded around it, so were stumped. CW want to charge $109 per labor hour to track down the problem, but an new converter would cost $210. We purchased new 30 cord ends for the plug. We are wondering if the main cord is fried. The PU is 9 years old, just don't know where to turn and DH is not a an electricial person. So.. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Stmped....Converter problems ( I think)

Back on labor day we had issues regarding our air conditioner popping the converter box. We ended up staying in a cabin so our weekend would not be for nothing. But now it's cooling off and it's time to camp again. We have not checked out the problem yet, mostly because we don't know where to start. The male end of the cord was replaced recently, and when the circuits pop, the fan does run. Box is getting hot and the end of the cord with the male side. I have a voltmeter but don't know how to use it. The air works for 15=/- minutes than pops off. Can anyone walk me through the volt meter, or I can call that person if they can tell me where to start. Pu is open and ready to be fixed, but I really want to see if it is something I can fix first before I send it to a dealership. Thanks for you help. Mary Update since last night friend of mine took out the whole converter, some wires were not capped, so he capped them. Air and lights stayed on for at least an hour and then the air circut popped. We have the rigged hooked to a 20amp in the house, just the 20amp air conditioner popped, we are lost for words, Should I purchase new circuits for the converter? Only the air is popping. Thanks
